DMK Group

At more than 20 locations worldwide, the DMK Group, Germany’s largest dairy cooperative, processes around 7.1 billion kilograms of milk. Due to its new strategic orientation, the DMK Group decided to build a state-of-the-art production facility for baby food in Strückhausen.

Milk from GMO-free feeding is to be processed and packaged here into powdered baby food for the German and international markets under the “Humana” brand. For this reason, seamless hygiene was a top priority in the construction of the plant. In order to implement the prerequisites here, proven experience and competence of all project partners as well as efficient, cross-industry cooperation were necessary.
Even the fire protection requirements demanded by the HDI insurance company could be met with the 1.9mm smooth GLASBORD® panels thanks to the fire classification B-s2-d0 + FM certification. The foundations for the building concept, which was adapted to GLASBORD®, were laid by the independent architecture and planning office SHI with its headquarters in Oldenburg.

The construction time for the DMK-Strückhausen project was approximately 3 years. The official opening took place on 07.02.2019. HYDEWA, as a supplier and system developer of hygienic ceiling and wall systems with decades of experience, brought the material and the necessary expertise. Especially in particularly sensitive areas of the food industry, customers in the dairy and cheese processing industry have sworn by our products throughout Europe for more than 20 years.

No other ceiling and wall cladding stands up to the high hygienic requirements in the food industry as excellently as this premium product. With GLASBORD®, a glass-fiber-reinforced synthetic resin panel, the Weidenberg-based Weidenberg-based company has created the perfect conditions for meeting the highest hygienic standards. The numerous advantages of HYDEWA panels convinced the designers and architects as well as the customer DMK from the very beginning.

The innovative GLASBORD® stands out from conventional GRP surfaces thanks to its pore-free Surfaseal surface. This offers perfect protection against germs and many chemicals. Thus, it not only ensures easy cleaning of the rooms, but also long-term durability. With the HACCP and GREENGUARD certificates, it once again proves its uncompromising quality in the field of food hygiene.

The smooth surface of the GLASBORD® panels excellently reflects the incident light and thus creates a bright, friendly room atmosphere, which creates a pleasant working environment for all employees. While HYDEWA was commissioned to advise on the cladding of the rooms and supply the material, the company Demuth Kühlhaussysteme GmbH in Bruchköbel undertook the professional installation. From mid-2017 to the end of 2018, approx. 4,850 m² of wall surfaces and approx. 1,450 m² of ceiling surfaces were installed with Glasbord® panels.
The harmonious cooperation of all project participants ensured a smooth process until the handover to the operator.
